Engines and drives?
Space is infinite so to get to the end of it would take an infinite amount of time. Theoretically, of course. Lets talk about if we can go to light speed. Yes but the down side is that it would take light years so lets say you wanted to go to the next star system is 4.35 "Cosmic Distance Scales - The Nearest Star." Cosmic Distance Scales - The Nearest Star. N.p., n.d. Web. 14 Feb. 2014. So, one light year if you are going light speed is one year so, it would still take 4 years and .35. "NASA Starts Building Faster-than-light Warp Engine - RT USA." NASA Starts Building Faster-than-light Warp Engine - RT USA. N.p., n.d. Web. 13 Feb. 2014. But, if you go warp speed you will get there faster. Let me explain if you take a plane (not an airplane) and at the end of the plane is point a and the other one point b. Now, if you warp the plane (not an airplane) it will bring point a and point b closer to each other and then you keep that warp and then you travel between the distance. "Warp Drive." Wikipedia. How long would it take?
To get to the moon from earth it would take about 4 days the same as the Apollo 11. You would not have to be going fast to go to the moon. You only have to go fast to get out of the atmosphere."UCSB Science Line Sqtest." UCSB Science Line Sqtest. N.p., n.d. Web. 14 Feb. 2014.
To get to mars a normal spacecraft would take 8 months with are technology today. Dunbar, Brian. NASA. NASA, 15 Aug. 2012. Web. 14 Feb. 2014.
To get to mercury it would take six years with are technology today. "Solar System Exploration: News & Events: Frequently Asked Questions: Mercury." Solar System Exploration: News & Events: Frequently Asked Questions: Mercury. N.p., n.d. Web. 14 Feb. 2014.

How much fuel would it take?
Depending on the space shuttle if it is unmanned of course it would cost less. But, a normal Space craft is 4.4 million pounds "How Much Did the Space Shuttle Weigh?" Cool Cosmos. N.p., n.d. Web. 12 Feb. 2014. and probably you are thinking is it REALLY that much! My god. Yes it weighs that much so, at 10,000 dollars per pound of matter into space so, 1 million pounds costs 10,000,000,000 dollars so, times that by four and you get 40,000,000,000,000, Now you add 10,000 times 4,000,000 equals another 40,000,000,000. That is 40,040,000,000,000 dollars now that might seem sick to you. I mean that is A LOT of money. That is just to go into space now since you got into space there is less friction which means that you would spend less money of fuel to go farther. We have only got to the moon with a manned spacecraft and you can see why because it costs a lot of money. That would be about 1123772102 teachers pay. This is the end of this post. What would be on the spaceship.
The energy would be an important part. If you wanted to be reusable photovoltaic cells, also called solar panels. Also radioisotope thermoelectic generator which uses radiation as fuel. But another good fuel source is hydrogen and oxygen burner it takes water separates it and burns hydrogen and the pilots use the oxygen. DOUBLE efficient. You would also need to communicate to earth so, you would need a receiver, high-gain antenna, and transmitter. You would also need to have programs to help you get into space and down to earth. What you would use would be an spaceship clock also called a timer so, it would separate the engines at the right time. You want fault proof and you need RAM. You would need stabilization and control. You would need spin stabilization and Attitude and articulation control subsystem.
You would also need passive cooling and also cabin heating. You would need a heat shield and a parachute.
The most important part is the engines and also thrusters. This is the end of this post. "Spacecraft Systems." Spacecraft Systems. N.p., n.d. Web. 05 Feb. 2014.

What would they be made of?
Would they be made of light material or would be heavy material. The problem is that most heavy materials are strong (not including gold). But, they are heavy so, the would way the spaceship down which would not be good as a escort ship. But, it would be good for freighter type ship. Luckily there is a material that is light enough so that one piece which would be 1 by 1 by 1/2 of a inch would be light enough to sit upon a dandelion. It would not be the main part of the space ship we still need an outer lining. "Fibrecore™ - As Strong as Steel, as Light as Aluminium

Which is very good outer lining for a space craft."Popular Science | New Technology, Science News, The Future Now." Popular Science. N.p., n.d. Web. 05 Feb. 2014.
